Nicole Kidman is honoured for her charity work in Germany

She has a talent for wearing just the right thing for almost every event.

And Nicole Kidman demonstrated her time tested red carpet savvy as she arrived in an elegant grey gown to the Peace For Cinema event in Berlin, Germany, on Friday.
The 46-year-old was being honoured by the foundation, along with UN dignitary Lakshmi Puri, for her work to better the lives of women around the world.

The Academy Award winning actress donned white high heeled pumps, elevating her already impressive 5ft11 frame, as she posed with Ms. Puri.

Framing her face were long soft pink tear drop earrings, matching the hue of her lip gloss.
With her straw-coloured tresses tied back into a ponytail, Kidman nicely complimented her porcelain complexion with the aforementioned silver dress encrusted with small rhinestones.

Ms. Puri, for her part, was equally elegant in a royal blue sari with gold accents.
The philanthropist and the bureaucrat were clearly dressed with the intent to promote their various UN based projects.
Nicole is currently the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, charged with promoting the rights of women worldwide.

The actress' focus is on ending violence against women and has been an active voice in bringing attention to human rights violations the world over.
According to UN Women, Kidman has previously said of her role with the UN: 'I have learned much about the horrific scope of violence against women around the world and seen its devastating impact.
'When I first learned that one in three women and girls experience violence in their lifetime, I was utterly shocked. Much of my work for UN Women has since been dedicated to this issue'.
Cinema For Peace, which describes itself as 'the Oscars with brains', is also honouring Ms. Puri for her work as the UN Women Acting Head.
Of her work, Ms. Puri has explained: 'There is so much to do. Right now, we are looking to Egypt where UN Women has supported women since the early stages of the democratic transition.
'At this crucial juncture, women must be part of a peaceful and democratic dialogue to determine the country’s future,”

Adding: 'In Syria, too, women must fully take part in the mediation and reconciliation process. UN Women is an advocate and supporter of women there so this can happen.'
Also attending the event was Bianca Jagger, who made her name as both social and human rights advocate and as an actress and model.
Auma Obama, half sister of the US president, made an appearance as well.
